Dear Teachers,

Everything you need to know as the head of English or Drama

Grove Productions Schools Programme produces professional plays specifically designed around the unique needs of secondary schools. Plays chosen are the most popular GCSE books, performed at smaller, local theatre's during the school day, so that your school has exclusive use of the theatre at a time that is convenient to you.

Affordable and Local

We understand that it's important for your students to experience live theatre and that many students learn by experiencing great literature as well as reading it.

We work with teachers to make sure the main themes of the books are explored on stage in line with exam board requirements.

We use small theatres so your school can have exclusive use. There will be no other schools at your performance or members of the public. There is a minimum booking of 150, however this can be made up of teachers, helpers, year 10 and 11 as well as sixth form.

All school shows are during the school week, with performances at 9:30am and 1pm. We can be slightly flexible with these times as it is only your school seeing the show.

Our main cast is a highly talented group of eight actors, our sets are designed to be impactful but uncomplicated, we use lighting and sound to create a lot of drama. All of this means we can keep the price of the tickets as low as possible.

We book theatres in different towns  so no schools have to travel more than one hour, saving time and transport costs.

Q&As

You have the option for the students to do a Q & A with the Cast and the Director after the show. We are happy to answer text specific questions as well as questions about the process of putting on the show, and performance. As the cast have inhabited the characters, they are in a great position to talk about their motivations and what drives the character's actions.
